What is Zimplifica?

What is Zimplifica?

Zimplifica is a Costa Rican fintech building the next generation of financial infrastructure in Costa Rica. Our value proposition is focused on providing a regulated, scalable, and secure platform that enables individuals and businesses to operate financial services with technological agility, all within a robust and transparent regulatory framework.

We are a Payment Service Provider (PSP) authorized by the Central Bank of Costa Rica and registered with SUGEF under Article 15 bis, clause e, with a firm commitment to preventing:

  • Money laundering
  • Terrorist financing
  • The proliferation of weapons of mass destruction

How are we different from a bank?

Unlike traditional banks:

  • We do not use client funds for investments, loans, or risk-based operations.
  • We do not offer financial products with credit exposure.
  • We do not generate interest or profits from our clients' money.

Instead, we operate under a transparent and regulated model through Resource Management Accounts (CAR), which:

  • Register the funds as the exclusive property of the client.
  • Enable payments and transfers under direct user instruction.
  • Keep 100% of the funds safeguarded at the Central Bank of Costa Rica.

This guarantees full traceability and eliminates the risk of misuse of funds.

Zimplifica does not operate like a bank, but as a neutral and secure financial infrastructure, always complying with Law 7786.

Embedded Finance and Banking as a Service

We live in an era where financial experiences are no longer limited to traditional banks. More and more consumers expect to:

  • Pay directly through a mobility app,
  • Get a digital card from an online store,
  • Or receive payments directly through collaborative platforms.

This phenomenon is known as Embedded Finance, and Zimplifica is building the infrastructure to make it possible in Costa Rica.

Our Banking as a Service (BaaS) platform enables companies across industries—retail, mobility, fintechs, subscription platforms, service providers—to:

  • Create CAR accounts for their end users
  • Receive payments and make transfers through SINPE
  • Issue virtual or physical cards
  • Integrate financial services into their operations without becoming a regulated institution

A vision beyond fintech

Zimplifica is not defined solely by its technology or regulatory status. It is defined by its vision:

To create an accessible, modular, and ethical layer of financial services that allows any digital player to participate in the Costa Rican financial system without having to build it from scratch.

This not only democratizes access to digital money, but also promotes a more competitive, secure, and user-centric ecosystem.

Sustainability, regulation, and trust

Every component of our operation has been designed to meet the highest regulatory standards. From fund segregation in CAR accounts to KYC protocols, auditing, and compliance, Zimplifica is built from the ground up to coexist with and strengthen financial oversight.

At the same time, we maintain a culture of technological agility, operational transparency, and user-centered design, allowing us to move quickly without compromising integrity.

Toward a new generation of financial services

The future of finance isn’t in a bank. It’s in every app, every business, and every service that wants to give users more control, more options, and a better financial experience.

Zimplifica exists to enable that future.
